| When you repeatedly see liberals go against what would be common sense on security issues, your first (and correct) reaction would be to think that they are insane, or enemies. Although this makes sense, it really isn't true. One of the most difficult things of running stopthedonkey.com, is getting into the minds of liberals to see why they act this way. They are a prisoner of a world view and a value system that is twisted and warped. They are not enemies in the sense that, they don't WISH harm upon their fellow Americans, but they are tacitly support things like crushing the FISA surveillance act on some technicality, because in their pathetic view, the damage done to "our rights" is worse than if say a bomb goes off in Chicago and kills your mother.
Now they don't WANT your mother to die, but to them, its as if a tsunami or earthquake hit, it's just acceptable, unavoidable, collateral damage. They will go as far to extend constitutional protections to NON AMERICANS because they feel so fervently about it. If anyone ever really saw the secret FISA court rulings that bring foreign to foreign communications under FISA control - they would puke. Because one digital bit MAY go through a hub located in the US - get this - all communications must be run to the FISA court AS IF it were American to American. Anyone with the slightest degree of sense can see, this is demonstrably not what the FISA court was intended to do. You are doing nothing but making it easier for Jihadists to communicate under protections that they DO NOT HAVE. This constant concern over NOTHING will get Americans killed. You, and your loved ones, may be the collateral damage that the Democrats consider acceptable.
It is the same situation with the NAMBLA creeps who are defended by the ACLU. The ACLU doesn't want child molesters to harm children. But in their warped view, they think that by protecting these scumbags, they are somehow, in their hyper intellectualized fantasy land, protecting the rights of ordinary, law abiding Americans. To them the pain that the Curley family, let alone Jeffrey endured, is acceptable damage to further this "protection" they so honorably defend. We see this same thing over and over again in the restorative justice handed out by poisoned liberal judges in Vermont.
Instead of defending the innocent, and protecting their citizens, they go back to these intellectual arguments because that is the world in which they live. Liberal extremists such as Ward Churchill will tell you, that the 9-11 victims were just getting their come-uppance for our national mistakes. That is really what is deeply ingrained in the minds of all liberals in the ACLU and Congress, a worldview so backwards that they they will let savages harm us. Well it is ok as long as it is YOUR loved ones. | |
