My favorite lie from the "one" and his ilk is this perverted concept of the need for all of us to be "looking out for each other". This is code word for "paying more taxes" if you get to the heart of it. In their calculus, led by a deep belief in social justice, government should be the arbiter of fairness. The only way for society to be fair is for BIG GOVERNMENT to take from the people who earned the money because - wait for it - YOU ARE YOUR BROTHER'S KEEPER. You should do it because the bible tells you so. We need to "look out" for each other, for *the team*.
We look out for the team by looking out for ourselves. The individual's desire to succeed drives his performance and thus his team succeeds. You WANT a team mate who is hustling, working, and training to be the best that HE CAN BE. The TEAM succeeds because YOU individually want success. I want my team to win, and I do so by wanting to win MYSELF. This is what has made America great - individuals striving for greatness that in turn creates GENUINE opportunity for others. Was Steve Jobs looking out for me, someone he never even knew existed, when he created the iPhone and the iPad? Technologies that I develop for and support my family on? There are countless examples in industry or sports where INDIVIDUAL drive leads a team to greatness. The best thing you can do for your team is to want to succeed yourself. This is the secret of the invisible hand, and the secret of America's success.
Has any socialist experiment in history produced equality, wealth, or opportunity for all? Why has China or Russia gone towards a free market system which has freed millions from poverty? As with most things, liberalism sounds good, makes you feel good, but FAILS utterly in reality. If you want to help your country, hustle at work and strive to be the most successful you can. In your wake, you will create genuine success that others will benefit from. A successful America is only possible once we return to the traditional values that work, not the mentality of failure that this president and Lizzy Warren prescribe.
As I talk politics with people from all stripes, I can't help but notice a common pattern. People just love to maintain a perceived high ground in the fray by blaming each side. Ah, they are all messed up. This attitude is nothing but self serving, as they don't want the impression of offending anyone. This is tremendously glib, and I see no evidence or fact seems to substantiate it.
Which party fights for spending cuts in out of control spending in Washington that BOTH sides agree has to stop? Do we see an equal balance between leftists and conservatives asking for cuts? No. The left derives their power from the debt. They need fear and desperation in the populous in order to maintain their relevance.
Which party constantly gives lip service about needing more "revenue" (code word for taxes) but doesn't really raise taxes? I give countries in Europe a lot of credit. They give huge amounts of their money to government, and they expect a lot. We don't. Do we see an equal balance between left and right when it comes to raising taxes and expanding the scope of government? No. Only the left has limitless faith in government's ability to fix problems. They never look at the negative effects of legislation and oppressive taxation.
The reason we have a two party system is that there are two main views on how the country should work. You need majority wins in each branch of government in order to have your side's methods take effect. I find it incredibly immature to be wooed by a good speech, a handsome face, or a thrill up your leg. If you believe that more government will really help our country be more fair and more just, then have at it. But to all in the mushy middle please, give it a little more thought than American Idol, the country is going to hell in the meantime.
What a thrill it was hearing the news last night. So many questions have swirled since 9-11 about the whereabouts of the world's most wanted man. Last night we learned that yes, he was alive. Yes he WAS in Pakistan, and yes, he ate a bullet at the hands of American Seals, while he cowered behind one of his wives. A coward till the end, living in a mansion in relative luxury while directing his foot soldiers of death.
President Obama has handled this with strength, class, and a clinical effectiveness that is admirable and commendable. It is a time to be proud. We should always remember that somewhere, an American soldier out there knows he got the ultimate catch. He will never tell his family, he will never sign a book deal, he will never go on Oprah. He just trains to do his job well, and does it well, with no expectation of personal glory.
The media however begin their adoration of the exulted one, who aims to capitalize on his victory. And you know - he should. If this were GWB or any other Republican, it would have been more cowboy. Would have been to bolster his falling poll numbers. You know, UBL wasn't an operational threat anyway. Don't you know that we have no right bullying around the world? Who do we think we were?
Barack W Obama, once elected - acted like an ADULT has to and did what it took to bring UBL to justice. That is no typo - Barack W Obama continued the policies of GWB in every regard. Kept Guantanamo open for business, surged in Afghanistan, stayed the course in Iraq, even invaded a Muslim country.
If only the Left and Barack W Obama worked so hard to help America win the war when they weren't in power. Obama ran on closing club Gitmo, a favorite of his radical leftist base. He ran against enhanced interrogation techniques. Wasn't this why the world hated us? Obama voted against the Iraq surge. The left worked to weaken and attack the Patriot Act, and wiretapping. They encouraged and supported ACLU lawyers to rush to defend terrorists at every turn. We had to give non US citizen terrorists due process under the Constitution. Leftists railed in Congress - we were busting down doors of innocent civilians, we were creating Gulags. We were worse than Hitler. They reveled in our embarrassment over Abu Ghraib, making sure to maximize the impact even though it directly threatened our forces abroad. Was the media so equally concerned about the REAL atrocities committed in Afghanistan by our forces uncovered recently? It was a one headline blip.
KSM coughed up the info about Bin Laden's courier AT club Gitmo after interrogation. Other plots were stopped by the intelligence there as well. Terrorists *released* have come back to fight again on the battlefield and kill American soliders. We are trying terrorists their under sunny Cuban skies, away from the US circus. We want to close this now say the left?
And it really didn't stop once elected. Obamas' own AG wanted to give KSM, (the chairman of the waterboard) a theatrical event in Manhattan, and his Justice Department has threatened and sued former Bush FBI agents for tactics used under the previous administration. He has 9-11 truthers appointed into Czar positions.
The bottom line is the left subverts and works against our interests while out of power, and utilizes all of the tools and processes that succeed once they have taken power. Due process not required when Obama is ordering the predator drones!! I am really enjoying seeing the reaction by people remembering president Bush and Cheney with fondness after this great victory. The fact is, Bush took the hard, least politically expedient route when it came to prosecuting the GWOT. It doesn't always sound good, it doesn't fit neatly into an election cycle especially when the vipers on the left use it to gain votes. But it does protect us from the threat posed to us by radical Islam until we have defeated it completely.
Bush always said that a free-er, more democratic middle East was the only way to solve the problem. Isn't that exactly was has been unfolding over the past year in Egypt, Syria, and Libya? Maybe there is a universal yearning for freedom and liberty after all? And maybe if the Left would stop working so hard against American interests, maybe the United States can lead the world once again towards prosperity and peace?
The battle unfolding in Wisconsin is the front line in the battle of our time. Unions, anarchists, and socialists band together under a banner of "democracy" and workers' rights. The Free People of Wisconsin simply ask unions to pay a *piece* of their share of the ever increasing cost of health care in this country. 10% of our fellow citizens are unemployed, and have been for years. The real question at hand is - are we adults? Are we adults who realize that the state has a 3.4 BILLION dollar shortfall that cannot be sustained, and some adjustments MUST be made, or are we children - children who think that Mom's credit card has no limit? The best part of all this is that it is really only a couple hundred million dollars at stake, really a drop in the bucket compared to the tidal wave of deficits WI has. And Wisconsin isn't even close to the worst in our nation.
It is best to always come back to basics. Most of the people reading these words work in the private sector. Let's imagine you aren't doing a great job. I don't know, 23rd place. Do you turn to your boss and say hey, I would do a better job if you only paid me more? Write me and let me know how that works out. No, in *reality* where people have to compete, you work hard, and if you succeed you have a *chance* to make more. Not for union apes! No they DEMAND more benefits and more pay EVEN THOUGH they WORK FOR US! EVEN THOUGH as *PUBLIC* servants who have BLATANTLY failed on the world stage in educating our kids they demand MORE. Even though our economy doesn't create the jobs that pays their salaries, and even though they fail over and over. Bush spent BILLIONS on education to not even get ONE POINT of improvement. I don't blame teachers for all of the problems in our society and our education system. The job is tough. But you know - SO IS COMPETING with the world on every product and service. WE get judged by our ability to add value to customers. You don't. You get cushioned by union thugs who protect poor performance and discourage achievement. If you go out and buy a 50,000 dollar BMW you know, it is expensive. But it is a GREAT CAR. With the US education system we pay a lot AND GET POOR performance. Charter and Catholic schools spend less and get better scores. And better yet - you want MORE of our dollars to cushion you from the country's health care costs? While mine go up 25% per year? While I haven't gotten a raise in 3? And all we want you to do - because you are trusty public servants - is to pick up HALF!!! And I have to work more to pay both your salaries AND the private schools for my kids - with each night worrying if I will have a job in the morning? Who works for who here?
We could fix this all America by abolishing all federal level support for education. The influx of cash to states should be given DIRECTLY to EACH student to purchase the education they want. Well whoah! The poorest student in America would have 15,000 dollars to spend on any school they wanted? Wait a second - what a market that would create! Schools would have to COMPETE with each other to produce a good product!? No one sends their kid to bad schools by choice. Great teachers - and there are great teachers out there bound into a crappy system - would have the freedom to create better curriculum and more innovative techniques. Lousy, freeloading I-don't-care teachers would HIT THE ROAD. If you can't compete with the Nun up the street that works harder for less - then you have finally felt what it is like FOR US OUT HERE IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR STARING AT THE CEILING EACH NIGHT WONDERING IF WE HAVE A JOB THE NEXT DAY. We have to wake up and learn more, do more, with less , each day AND STILL PAY YOU. You work for us. And until the Free People of Wisconsin, and the other states figure this out - the children have the credit card, and your children's futures in their anarchist, socialist mitts.
The Arizona massacre is a horrific act committed by a mentally unstable individual. As soon as this occurred however, you could see how the leftist media started to spin it. Well of course, first the obvious. The primary target was a democrat, so it must be a right wing lunatic. Perfect. Never mind that the democrat in question is a pro-gun blue dog, that can easily be ignored. Then they scrape up Sarah Palin's map with the targets on it, been waiting to use that one! It must be Beck, Palin and Limbaugh. The hate mongers. Who needs facts when you have this? Even the AZ sheriff opines about how this country has "changed since he was a boy". There is no stretch too long for these people. It must have been the READING OF THE CONSTITUTION that sent this guy over the edge. This is the same thing the left used when Kennedy got shot in Dallas. It was the right wing environment that must have caused the assassin to snap! Too bad it was a communist sympathizer from New York that was the gunman.
Keep in mind, these are the same voices that said we had to honor WARD CHURCHILL'S free speech. The same voices that want Kalhid Sheik Mohammad to use the courts as a media playground to spread hate. Well hey, they all should have Constitutional rights correct? Just don't read it out loud, because that might send someone over the edge.
The president himself has said how the "rhetoric" from "some in the media" is what is driving divisiveness in this country. Can you really believe how leftists think? How about Bill Ayers himself, the author of "Prairie Fire" who LITERALLY condones and supports violence and is an Obama buddy? And are there no haters on the left, say MSNBC? No. Just honorable patriots right?

The "rhetoric" that the left wants to shut down was formerly known as "patriotic dissent" that Hillary Clinton so values. Oh wait, it isn't patriotic dissent unless you are accusing the president of being a murderer. If you just want smaller, less intrusive, constitutional government, you must be one of the haters. I actually heard a radio caller last night say that Giffords was on "Palin's list" and how he can't believe that no one else is picking up on this. Luckily, people with reasonable judgment will have the last say on this controversy.
